Personal Insights:This is a great piece, I bought it for an extremely redicelous amount of money at Sotheby's. I was lucky, bucause, I had good friends there who did not bid against me and raised the price even more.

General Information: An original double spread page (pages 16-17) comic book page from "Superman: Peace on Earth".

Comic Information: "An oversized (done in the "Treasury" sized style of the 1970's) fully-painted Alex Ross Superman story! Superman pits his powers and his heart against the menace of hunger, a fully curable condition that kills thousands of people every day. Alex Ross paints the Man of Steel on a SUPER sized, prestige format comic, that doesn't even do his art one bit of justice. Words truly cannot describe him.

The story is told from Superman's point of view as he takes on figuring out a cure for the titanic problem of world wide hunger. Superman's characterization is head on throughout the story. His powers, when they are used, are used creatively, like when a mob of hungry people surround, and overwelm Sups, worshiping him, praising him, Sups uses his super-spinning power to drill through the ground, to arise a few feet away. Also, during the Planet's holiday party, Clark skips it to do research on hunger, thinking "It helps for Clark Kent to maintain a low profile so as not be missed when Superman is needed." This kind of realization is lost in regular Superman books, where everyone knows who he is, and let it be known!

Artist Information: Alex Ross' is one of the only artists to change an industry for fans. His painted realistic style has created waves of emotions and cries of awe by both peers and readers. I am very lucky to own such a piece. Alex Ross has done multiple projects from Superman and the rest of the DC characters, to the X-Men and the whole Marvel gang, there just isn't enough words to describe this man's influence and ability.
